Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure used on a patient eyelids. This procedure is almost entirely used for cosmetic purposes. It has the ability to greatly improve the look of sagging and aged skin around the eyes. The surgery removes the extra and loose fat and skin that surrounds the eye area. This can be done on both the upper and lower eyelids or a single eyelid. There are two variations of the surgery. One uses a small incision on the side of the eyelid to remove only the excess tissue. Another is an incision across the eyelid that allows for removal of excess skin in addition to tissue. Recovery is relatively short as the patient should be rid of all related symptoms in about two weeks.
