Lower Body Lift Recovery
A lower body lift, known as a belt lipectomy is a surgical procedure. A qualified plastic surgeon operates to remove fat and tighten the skin of the body. A belt lipectomy generally focuses on the abdomen, buttocks, hips and thighs. The doctor may perform the operation all at once or in a series of smaller operations. The individual's choice of approach will affect the lower body lift recovery time. After completing a lower body lift, the surgeon will place drains into the incisions. This is to prevent the collection of fluid in these areas. The doctor will then see to the application of specific dressings or implement the use of a pressure garment. The possible risks result in an overnight stay in a hospital under observation. After a lower body lift, recovery may take as long as 3 weeks before returning to work.
