Mastopexy
A mastopexy is a breast lift. It is cosmetic plastic surgery. The purpose is to raise or lift the breasts and firm them. It does so by removing any excess flesh as well as tightening the tissue surrounding the breast. Mastopexy can be an office or hospital procedure. It may be a full or partial breast lift. It may also involve such procedures as incisions around the areola to reshape it as well as tighten, reposition or raise-up the breast. The masteopexy may also be part of breast augmentation or reduction surgery. Recovery time for the procedure is between 3 to 4 weeks. During the first 2 weeks, sexual activity is prohibited. Possible complications include scarring, infection, irregularities of breast shape, infection and either temporary or permanent change in breast or nipple sensation.
