A medi spa or medispa is a cross between a day spa and a medical clinic. The recognized and professional medispas have a doctor in residence at all times. Its purpose is to provide care and procedures of both a medical and esthetic nature within the environment of a spa-like atmosphere. A medi spa offers a variety of different treatments. Along with a traditional massage or suana, a medi spa can perform more intensive and medical procedures such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, fillers and skin tightening. At medi spas, an individual can undergo treatment for brown spots, broken capillaries and red spots. He or she can also receive Botox injections in a safe and medically secure environment. At some medispas, there is even cosmetic dentistry along with medical aesthetic treatments and alternative or holistic procedures.
