Pearl Laser
The Pearl laser is a type of laser manufactured by Cutera. It is FDA approved as an ablative treatment for skin. The Pearl laser treats hyper- and hypo pigmentation of the skin that resulted in fine lines and uneven skin texture on the face and neck. People seeking this type of treatment often have sun damaged skin and most are between the ages of 25 to 60. The laser works by administering pulses of light that removes the top layer of the skin while also heating the tissue lying below the top skin layer. The purpose of the procedure is to remove old sun damaged skin while promoting the growth of new collagen that fills in wrinkles and new skin. The procedure is complete in a single session unlike fractional laser surgery.
